Think good thoughts in 2018.
If you’re still drafting your resolutions for the year, please add “good thoughts” to it.
If you’ve completed yours, go back to the list and insert, “In 2018, I resolve to think positively.”
It may sound simple.
It may appear immaterial.
But it is essential.
Whatever you and I may want to achieve in 2018 will grow from our thoughts. Great achievements start with great thoughts. Failure descends from bad thoughts.
If in doubt, go read James Allen’s wonderful book, “As A Man Thinketh.” I recommend it strongly.
We are what we think; we become our thoughts.
That was why I wrote, “Thinking about Thinking” four years ago. It is still available for you to read here.
I am not a Buddhist, but Buddha once said, “We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When our mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.”
Swani Vivekananda echoed it, “We are what our thoughts have made us; so, take care about what you think. Thoughts live; they travel far.”
And the Holy Bible instructs us, “…whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things” – Philippians 4:8 (KJV).
Your success, my success, our success in 2018 will depend on our thoughts.
I vote for great thoughts.
Do so too.
